LENS BIAS LAW





Lens Bias graduated from Northwestern High School, Hyattsville, Maryland and subsequently attended University Of Maryland. He wore jersey number 34 and one of the best basketball players in college history. He was compared to Michael Jordan and so many believe he was better. He was the ACC athlete of the year(1986) and player of the year (1985-1986).

Seeing all the assets and prospects , the boston celtics drafted him in 1986 . Bias and his father travelled to new york to sign the acceptance of the contract to Boston Celtics. Reebok was also there to sign him on a 3 million dollars contract, just to wear their shoes.

Bias and his father returned home to Riverdale Maryland, where the entire family was waiting to celebrate the success of their child. The millions of dollar deal with Celtics and the shoe deal contract. It was a dream come true for the father , mother and the entire family. This meant that they were rich, and would say good bye to riverdale maryland.

Later on in the night , Bias left his residence to go back to campus to celebrate with his friends. Dad did not want him to go, but they could not stop him. Bias had a party in his room filled lots of liquor . He and his friends were sniffing cocaine and drinking liquor.

Couple of minutes later, Bias had a seizure , he was struggling to breath, His friend Brian Tribble picked up the phone and dialed 911. The paramedics stormed the school campus and moved him away in a hurry to save his life. That was how a dream ended. The doctors reported that he died of cardiac arrest. The mom , and father went hysterically. A window of opportunity taken away from them by drugs. The issue generated a lot of heated debate about the drug use and its abuses. The heated debate prompted the SENATE to pass a bill , "DRUG DEALERS GO TO JAIL FOR A MINIMUM OF 20 YEARS" . The law today is called the "The Lens Bias Law"
